Kepada mahasiswa,
Apa yang diperjuangkan?
Kebebasan mahasiswa katanya.
Apa faedah nya?
Mansuhlah AUKU
Untuk apa?
Dapat berpolitik?
Politik itu apa?
Permainan orang tua
Faedah politik bagi mahasiswa?
Beban yang teramat
Untuk apa?
Pening kepala
Kebangkitan mahasiswa katanya,
Mahasiswa itu siapa sebenarnya?
Pelajar-pelajar universiti
Adakah seseorang itu mewakili semua mahasiswa?
TIDAK
Segelintir kecil mahukan kebebasan yang kononnya diperjuangkan
Sebilangan hanya mengikut
Tetapi majoriti berdiam
Adakah diam tanda setuju atau tidak setuju?
Tiada siapa yang tahu
Jadi, tidak perlulah diperbesarkan.
Seorang buat kecoh, semua orang melenting
Seorang itu mahasiswa yang berjuang untuk kebebasan katanya
Adakah dia memahami apa yang diperjuangkan sebenarnya?
Dikatakan mahasiswa tidak bebas?
Mahasiswa mempunyai facebook, twitter, blog, tumblr, etc
Melayu ketinggalan jauh
Melayu terperosok jauh
Disemua demonstrasi kelihatan hanya orang Melayu

A Leader
The faculty had a voting session for the upcoming High Committee of the Law Society Club of Faculty of Law today. I had the chance to vote for the post of President, Secretary and Treasurer although it was late in the evening but at least I did my part.
For this entry, I will make a few comments on qualities of leaders. I know I am not qualified to talk about this cause I am NO-ONE and I am NOT even a leader myself but I am sure that as a follower I have the right to comment on certain leaders' qualities that I like, dislike, hoped for, and expected for.
Some people think that being a leader is an easy task. What he or she has to do is only to give jobs to whomever working under his name and that's it. Little they know that with all the instructions given comes responsibility and liability. A leader is responsible for all the acts done by the people working under and is liable for the wrongdoings although they know nothing about the act.
Back to the topic, these are the leadership qualities that I think play important role.
1. Unbiased
- People had always mistaken the word bias. Bias does not only mean bias against a group of people but it can be more than that. Bias can be very obvious or very hidden or sometimes he or she does not even realise that he or she is being biased. A leader should be able to differentiate or distinguish or separate personal matters, work matters and formality. In university life, we are working with our friends. Our friends are sometimes our boss or even someone who works under us. Friends are friends OUTSIDE the period of working. A leader should be able to act accordingly. It should not matter if that someone is the boyfriend or girlfriend, the leader should be able to treat them equally with others. The girlfriend or boyfriend should not get to give excuses or even an-early dismissal. A leader should know that everyone needs to be given equal treatment.
2. Listen to opinions
- A person with power tends to not listen to others and think that they are the best in the society or community. Well dude, YOU ARE NOT GOD! You are only human. you are not perfect and you are not the best. When ever you think that you are the best, think again! There is always someone who is smarter, more brilliant than you are. Listen to what your colleagues have to say. Listen to their opinions and suggestions. If they have any criticism, accept them. Do not be a LOSER by not respecting opinions of others. As I said, you are not the best. Sometimes your colleague has a more brilliant stuff than what you have.
3. Be Organised and Disclose Information Properly
- A leader has to be an organised person. Not only your work has to be organised but also your thoughts. When even your thoughts and work are organised, you would be able to disclose information to your colleagues properly. This is IMPORTANT! To deliver a proper message and information so any miscommunication will not occur. In organising an event, communication among the committee is very important. Miscommunication could cost a serious, major problems in the event. Therefore, a leader should have a very good communication skill with the colleague.
4. Be Firm and Strict but with a BIG SMILE
- Strict and firm is one of the most significant quality, in my opinion. Strict and firm is strictly for the colleagues not be able to step-on-your-head. However, together with that a leader needs to be someone with a great big smile and with that a laughter. You do not want your committee to be afraid of you in front but spit-on-you at the back. You do not want that! you want them to be able to smile and laugh and do their work with such pleasures and smile on their faces.
5. Great Respect
- Respect others to be respected by others. This is the motto I have been holding since ever. I always believe that when you respect people, they will respect you back no matter whether they know you or not. Therefore, a leader should respect the colleagues so that they will give the same respect to the leader. A leader needs a sense of respect from the people under him rather than a feeling of fear. Fear does not always guarantee quality. I can assure you that together with respect comes good quality of work. When ever people like to do something or like the person they are working with, they will work hard and work better to achieve the goals. This is so different when the person is doing work out of fear. The work done will not be as honest and I hope you will understand it when I say this. No need for further elaboration, perhaps.
I do think that a leader plays an important role in making sure that everything goes on smoothly. Though work has been disbursed to the other people but it is the duty and responsibility of the leader to make sure that everything is going on as planned.
As I said earlier, I AM NOBODY and I know what I am saying does not affect anyone but this is my thoughts and qualities I see to be in a leader. I should not put so much hope cause PEOPLE ARE NOT PERFECT and SO DO I!
These are said for the sake of saying what is in my mind. I know that it is EASIER SAID THAN DONE but WHEN THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY. When the person soon-to-be leader should consider instilling these qualities in them.
That is all from me.
Merci,
MARL!

Unprofessionalism
For this entry I would like to touch on 'Unprofessionalism' and 'Accusations and Allegations'.
1. I came across an article slammering another person by accusing and alleging what has not been proven. Accusations and allegations have to be supported with evidence and proofs so that what ever that we say is concrete and not just an empty can. An adult should know that allegations and accusations are very heavy thing to be done to another person and thus the evidence.
2. The author of the article that I read slammed another party who in his allegations has committed a dishonest act by not doing what should be done. The affected party have stood up for themselves and have stated the reasons on the decision made and that they had taken proper measures and procedures and even have received approval on doing so. Therefore, they claim for an apology.
3. Without feeling guilty, the author did not even say sorry and did not take steps to make it look like he is trying to say sorry. This for me is a very un-gentleman act. He should have apologised as there is no wrong in doing so.
4. What worries me is that, the author is a person who in NO WAY will be affected with what ever that the innocent party is doing or have done. He is in NO WAY related and in no way affected. He is a TOTAL STRANGER and that he has no voice is slammering the innocent party. Question is; WHO IS HE? Many facts given by him are not justified. He alleged that he is a teacher but for the fact that his language is so badly structured made me worry how the students are going to be good students or even leaders in the future. The existence of the parent who complaint is another thing which is unjustified. Is the person really exist or is it only a fiction character? What ever it is, he is of no position to comment and to accuse or even to complain about what ever the innocent party is doing as he will not be affected in any way. In law, we call this as a person with locus standi. A person can only commence an action when he has fulfilled the element of locus standi which means 'a person so directly affected by the act of the wrongdoer'. Therefore, I would like to say that the author is of no position on making any allegations and accusations on the innocent party.
5. The thing about unprofessionalism is another thing that is so affected by the act. The person stated that he is a teacher and although I have no idea what are the guidelines for a teacher's ethics are but I am sure that this is against the guidelines. Making comments without proof is one thing but the fact that the words used are vulgar words is UNACCEPTABLE. A teacher should be a person who can be an example to the kids/children and HE IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THE EXAMPLE.
6. It is sad to see when someone who should be so professional and should be ethical can be the opposite. It is sad cause this is the person who the government is counting on to teach the youngsters who will be the nation leaders in the future.
7. I am sad
8. What ever it is, I hope that person will realise what damage has been done and that will act accordingly to clean his mess up.

MARL!

Learn From The Best, Stop Talking Nonsense.
I, sometimes think about the people of Malaysia and how ungrateful they are in certain ways. I, sometimes think about the people abroad and how grateful and proud they are of their country. I, sometimes think about how Malaysians can really be a successful country but because of some shallow mentality of the people we are not able to progress.
I have just finished an article written by a gentleman who has stayed in Singapore and Malaysia and is comparing the two countries. I do have objections on the article but I am not going to discuss about the article here and not going to anywhere. It may remains within me.
What I am more interested in is the comments by the people who have read the article. I agree to some extent that Singapore is well better developed than our country and that it is wayyyy better than Malaysia if we were to compare in terms of the public transportation, the facilities and how well the country has grown to such a developed and successful country. I am not denying the fact that Malaysia still has things to be improved and that we are still far behind compared to Singapore. I do not know about the fact how well the government treats the people and all that kind of stuffs. I seriously do not know and I will not make any comments based on my assumptions.
We shall leave it that Singapore is far off better than Malaysia and that Malaysia is far behind Singapore and there should be improvements on our part.
What I want to discuss is on how the people actually responded to the article. Some is well-off proud of Malaysia and some MALAYSIANs condemned Malaysia.
The comments should be on how Malaysia is progressing slower than it should be and on how Malaysia can improve but that did not happen as the comments if not all will be about discrimination on a particular race.
The person is questioning on why he did not get a scholarship from the government when he managed to get STRAIGHT A's for his SPM. Another commented about how they dislike Malaysia when they themselves are Malaysians. Some commented on how bad they want to migrate cause they are tired of Malaysian politics and the corruption and so on.
Let me tell you this, ONE is to be grateful that our country is blessed with peace and harmony. SECOND, be grateful that we have many races to learn from and THIRD be grateful that the country is doing good right now.
On the scholarship matter, getting a straight A does not mean you are the best. There will be someone who is rather far more successful than you are. Again, getting a straight a does not mean you are the best. Getting a straight A does not mean you have all A1s. Getting a mix of A1 and A2 can be considered as getting a straight A too. You might think that you are the best but think again, there will be at least another person who got a straight A1~ Another thing is that, you might get straight A but what about the other qualities? Getting a scholarship does not only depends on your grades. They look at personality, activity, how active you are at school and other qualities such as leadership quality. You can be a nerd but you are not someone with persona. You might be a straight A student but you cannot talk in front of people. There are other qualities that they will look into before giving you a scholarship. Getting a scholarship is actually a subjective matter. You will not always know what the organisation is looking for. You can never guess.
I have an experience on this once. My foundation results was not the best and it was an average results. I received an email for an award application from an organisation. I applied without any hope cause I know my CGPA was not that good. I applied and I got it. The organiser herself told me that they are not looking for someone who got the best results but they are looking for someone with all 'street smart' and 'book smart' quality that includes leadership skills and other skills. She admitted that they have received many application with perfect 4.0 CGPA but without any other qualities. As a result, I was the one who was chosen but bear in mind I was not the one who got the perfect CGPA. That is why I said that getting a scholarship is a subjective matter as we do not always know what the organisation is looking for. So, don't use the reason that you are a non-Malay and because of that you did not get the scholarship. Don't blame others but yourself first.
As for the condemning Malaysia matter. You are the most UNGRATEFUL person I have ever seen in my life. You talk but you don't act. You talk so much on facebook but no one is listening to you. My advice is, before you give advice asking people to change, change yourself first. Stop condemning and start helping. Condemning and saluting other country do not do good to your own country. You think that you are far off better in other country then go ahead and migrate but remember if you fail in that particular country that you love so much, don't come back to Malaysia just because you said Malaysia is 'easy'. We do not like people's waste. Come one people, you talk so much on facebook does not give any benefit to the country.
I myself have experienced such person before. He was so excited on going abroad. He said 'I can't wait to migrate to Australia' with the most sarcastic, selfish tone ever. I am eager to hear from him now and see how is he doing in Australia. You have to appreciate your country. If you want to migrate for a better reason then yes, please do. BUT, saying as though you hated Malaysia so much is unacceptable. You don't have to talk about Malaysia if you are going out from Malaysia. That will just give a not-so-impressive look on Malaysia and the people. It is saying as though Malaysia is an awful country and that the people are also bad and awful.
DO NOT GIVE BAD IMPRESSIONS ON THINGS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE.
Say sweet things about it and leave.
Sometimes people can be so very ungrateful at times.
I have not touched on 'Ungrateful Malays; IPTA Student'. That will be on another post.

A Stalker or...?
This is somewhat SCARY and CONFUSING and FREAKY.
One question: Are there people stalking me?
The first time I saw the notification, I AM SCARED!
I am not used to see these kind of stuff
Cause I know I am NOT HOT, WORTH IT to stalk.
People will only stalk on HOT people, POPULAR people, GORGEOUS people, you know these kind of people.
I am of neither category
So, I am confused and I questioned.
Do I have stalkers?
ROTFL
*suddenly feeling proud*
What A Life!
I realised that I have not been writing in a long
long time.
1. It is not that I don't want to write but it is
either I don't have time or I don't have any idea what to write about.
2. These few weeks have been very busy. This is the
time when the lecturers are giving us assignments, presentations, and so on.
This is the time when the lecturers are having replacement classes and this is
the time when the lecturers are giving back our previous test papers.
3. I have to say that I am pretty happy with what I
have gotten so far. I am fairly happy for my constitutional law test's results.
It was a not-so-bad results and I am proud of myself. Though I aimed to be the
best in class for that subject but I am sure that will come sooner or
later.
4. People are questioning on my looks these days.
Not questioning about my body shape or whatsoever inter-related to that but on
how I look. They said I look tired and stressed. Well, you got that right. I am
not the kind of person that is easy to be get stressed up but when I do it
shows. So, I am not going to deny that I have been stressed for the past few
weeks.
5. I had a kind of a 'bad' presentation for
MLS last two weeks. I know the fact that I had done some injustice to my
friends when I took up 20 minutes to present and my teammates had only 10
minutes to talk each. I know that fact and I am sorry if it affects the
marks.
6. I screwed up my CTU test and I realised that I
have to work harder for CTU cause apparently my general knowledge about
Malaysia is bad and I need more information for the subject. That is why people
say that you do not think that you are good in something when you are not
really sure cause at the end it will eat you up.
7. I was supposed to present my co-curiculum
assignment last thursday but I think Allah knows that I have not prepared well
for the presentation and that was why there was no electricity in the classroom
and so the class was cancelled.
8. I will have to prepare my script for French
subject. There are two major projects for French. First is the EXPOSÉ which is
going to be on next Tuesday and another is the FINAL PROJECT VIDEO which is
going to be handed it Tuesday next two weeks. I am fairly excited and scared at
the same time. Scared for not able to finish my work by the time given.
Insya-Allah I will finish it.
9. I have read and seen few
articles, news, and interviews on the Peaceful Assembly Bill which is going to
be passed by the Upper House in the nearest time and people are questioning the
Bill. They are not only questioning on it but also opposing the Bill saying
that it denies Human Rights to Assemble. I have not read the full Bill but I
know abit or two about the Bill which I think I am going to discuss about this
matter in my next post. (it needs a separate post cause it will be rather long
than normal)
10. Final is in THREE
WEEKS! It has to be noted that TORT FINAL PAPER will be on my BIRTHDAY! Me is
so very sad.
Love,
MARL!
